Hunan Honghui Education Development Foundation was established on August 29, 2008. It is the first 5A-level non-public fundraising foundation in Hunan Province. Since 2013, it has maintained a full score rating of the China Foundation Transparency Index (FTI) for 10 consecutive years, and has been awarded the “National Advanced Social Organization” by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and ranked among the TOP 30 private fundraising charitable organizations in China’s Charitable Credit Rankings. One of the public welfare projects of the Honghui Foundation, the “Dream Building Plan”, has been cited as a classic case study in “Charity and Sustainable Development-China Action 2020”, jointly published by the United Nations Development Program and China Foundation Center.
With your support, our rescue efforts will be stronger—6.2-magnitude earthquake disaster rescue operation in Jishishan County, Linxia Prefecture, Gansu
On December 18, 2023, at 11:59 PM, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Jishishan County in Linxia Prefecture. The earthquake resulted in 117 fatalities and 784 injuries. As of January 11, 766 people have been discharged from the hospital, while 18 are still being treated. There is a significant problem with injuries from collapsing buildings in the area. Within 50 minutes of the earthquake, 32 aftershocks were recorded, with the largest measuring 4.0 in magnitude. Additionally, the prevalence of civil and brick structures, which have poor support and are prone to collapse, has exacerbated the issue of injuries. The low temperatures have made rescue efforts more urgent, with temperatures in Jishishan County dropping to around -10°C on the night of the earthquake. The severe cold has significantly reduced the 72-hour golden rescue window.
University-industry collaboration | LAPLACE empowers education, moving towards “new”
On June 26, 2024, a donation ceremony was held at the Huizhou Boruo campus of Guangdong Technician College, organized by LAPLACE Renewable Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Vice President Deng Wencan and Vice President Liu Min of Guangdong Technician College, along with representatives from LAPLACE Renewable Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and LAPLACE (Wuxi) Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd., as well as relevant department heads from the college, attended the ceremony. LAPLACE donated key equipment for manufacturing high-efficiency photovoltaic cells to the college. The equipment, which maintains industry-leading performance levels, will be used as training tools for students to gain hands-on experience and conduct experimental research, helping them understand technology principles and applications more intuitively. Additionally, Laplace’s professional technicians will be responsible for installing and commissioning the equipment, as well as providing comprehensive technical support and training for the students.
Dr. Lin Jiaji was appointed as the Vice President of Science of Northeast Normal University Pingshan Experimental School
Dr. Lin Jiaji, founder and chairman of LAPLACE Renewable Energy Technology Co., Ltd., was appointed as the Vice President of Science of Northeast Normal University Shenzhen Pingshan Experimental School. On May 8, 2024, Dr. Lin Jiaji led a team to visit the library’s popular science reading area, the aerospace popular science center, and the artificial intelligence laboratory, and gave a wonderful public lecture to the students on the topic of “Talking about Science and Popularization – How to Become a Scientist”.
Visit Taizhou Social Welfare Center
The Taizhou Social Welfare Center was established in December 2000 and moved to No. 22 Chunfeng Road, Hailing District in May 2009. It covers an area of 20.83 acres with a total building area of 12,000 square meters, the center has 306 beds (226 for the elderly and 80 for children). It is a fully funded social welfare institution. Currently, the Taizhou Social Welfare Center houses 143 elderly and impoverished individuals, and cares for 45 orphans and disabled children. On November 9, 2023, Jiageng (Jiangsu) Special Materials Co., Ltd. visited the Taizhou Welfare Center to offer care and donations to the elderly and children. This effort supports the development of a “happy city” with “dignified care for the elderly” and “nurturing of children,” demonstrating the company’s commitment to President Xi Jinping’s call that “the ultimate goal of high-quality development is the well-being and health of the people.”
There are “cool” ways to cool down
From May to June 2023, LAPLACE (Wuxi) Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. organized a summer cooling event titled “Fire Safety for All, Safety for You and Me”. The company’s EHS team brought mineral water, beverages and other heat-relief supplies to deliver a refreshing drink to the Special Fire Brigade of the New Materials Industry Park and the Fire Rescue Brigade of Xishan District.
